Updated October 18, 2012

Food Lion has some good deals this week on Cabot cheese, Surf laundry detergent, green peppers, bone-in chicken breasts, cucumbers, Ragu pasta sauce, My Essentials soda, and more! There is also a new General Mills promotion.

These deals are valid 10/17 – 10/23.

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load RedPlum.com manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only 1 coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Hunger Relief Day at the NC State Fair is this Thursday, October 18, 2012. Get FREE fair admission with the donation of 4 cans of Food Lion store brand products. Now is the time to buy them while the Super Sale is going on.

Free Holiday Dinner Promotion: Spend $40 or more in one shopping trip for 6 weeks between October 3 and November 27 and get a $20 coupon good on anything in the store. You have to give them the coupon on the last page of the ad this week to enroll in this promotion. Each week you spend $40 or more, you will get a ticket. Collect 6 of the tickets and you get the $20 coupon. See the ad for details including items that do not count toward the $40 requirement.

General Mills Promotion: Save $5 instantly when you spend $15 on participating General Mills products through 10/30. Limit 1 reward per shopping visit. For those products listed below that are part of the GM promotion, I have indicated, “Part of GM promotion.”

There is a fabulous deal on the Cabot cheese at Food Lion with the right coupons! You can get it as low as 25 cents for an 8 oz package!
Cabot cheese, 8 oz bar is on sale for $2
There is a $1.00/1 printable coupon available through mambosprouts.com HERE , making it $1 at the register after coupon.
THEN there is also a .75/1 SavingStar.com e-coupon available HERE that credits to your SavingStar.com online account after a couple weeks. The savingstar e-coupon is only good on the 8 oz package so make sure you don't get one of the smaller ones. Once you receive credit for the e-coupon, it brings the price down to .25 for the package of cheese!
You can print the $1 coupon twice. Buy 2 packs, use 2 coupons and total is $1.25 after savingstar credit (.63 each!). It's rare to get 8 oz of cheese for less than $1 so this is a fantastic deal!
Thanks to chipper4800 for posting the $1 coupon link in the Share the Deals section this morning!

By George, I think she's got it! :-)

You are so right, Packy! There are certainly things week to week that Food Lion has a very good price on (like the produce and chicken breasts this week), but for coupon items especially, HT deals are hard for FL to beat. I am so happy to hear you are getting such good deals! Thanks for sharing, Packy. :-)

I used to be convinced that nobody beat FL prices UNTIL recently. Now, that I've gone to HT and buy only the items on my list...well, Faye's list, I can not BELIEVE how cheap I can buy items for. I was just looking at FL's ad and thought, "ok, this is X.XX at HT and this is X.XX at HT." I'm so much more aware of prices now...and I thought I was pretty good before. Thank you so much, Faye!
