Food Lion Competitor's Coupon Policy on their website
Select Food Lion stores have begun accepting competitor's coupons! They have updated their website with the updated policy. Read on for the details.
Posted — UpdatedAs we posted last week, select Food Lion stores have begun accepting competitor's coupons!
They have now updated their website with the new policy.
One of the interesting parts of the new policy is that:"Competitor coupons for their private brand items will be accepted for a matching Food Lion private brand items." That's an unusual policy. Granted, we don't see a lot of coupons for store brand items from the traditional grocery stores, but I will be on the lookout for them.
Food Lion will accept competitors' coupons from the competitors listed on the signage posted on each store's entrance door. If there is no sign listed at the location, the store does not honor competitors' coupons. Competitor's coupons must meet the above guidelines in addition to the following:
We do not accept competitor coupons earned on a loyalty rewards program or competitor digital coupons
Competitor coupons for their private brand items will be accepted for a matching Food Lion private brand items
We will honor only two (2) of the same competitor's coupon when two(2) of the specified items are purchased.
"Dollar-off-total-order" coupons will be limited to one Food Lion and one competitor's coupon per day, per household
A statement from the Food Lion corporate office indicates: "At Food Lion, we understand the importance of extra savings. Now, in select markets, including the greater Wilmington, Greenville, Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C., areas, we will test the acceptance of competitor coupons in conjunction with our current coupon policy. To take advantage of this new policy, customers may present a competitor's coupon to an associate during checkout.
Considering the increasing grocery competition in the Triangle, including multiple new Publix stores in the next year and the new Wegman's store opening in Cary, this is probably a good move on Food Lion's part.
