The Food Lion printable coupons for this week include one for $5 off a $5 purchase! What a generous surprise!

If you are signed up for the weekly Food Lion Shopper's Companion e-mail, you should have received this coupon as well.

HERE are the coupons for the week:

$5 off a $5 purchase, coupon not applicable towards the purchase of tobacco, alcohol, gift cards, postage stamps or services, Limit 1 print per person. Some Harris Teeter stores will accept printable competitor's coupons for a total off your total order so your HT may take this coupon.

.80 off 1 Food Lion Cheese snack slices

.50/1 my essentials cream cheese

$1 off ony one Fisher Boy item

I had the same experience at the food lion on the corner of Chapel hill road and Cary Parkway. This was on Thursday night. Indian cashier refused to accept the coupon.

Take the coupon to HT. I "rang up" several of those coupons myself last night. (Stonehenge HT)....

Yes, seriously. Indian lady cashier saw my coupon before she started to ring me up. She told me the manager said to not accept them. I told her it came from Food Lion. She said 'I know'. She was very polite. So I left, and replied to the email from Food Lion with the coupon to inform them this store is refusing to scan them.

I just used mine. They had extra jumbo shrimp for 1/2 off, so I paid less then $2 for the bag with this coupon! My boys love shrimp.
