Raleigh, N.C. — People scrambled to snatch cash that was blowing in the wind near the intersection of North New Hope Road and U.S. Highway 401 in Raleigh Sunday afternoon.
Police said a woman accidentally left her purse on top of her car after leaving the grocery store. She had about $300 in cash in her purse, which then scattered into the air and onto the roadway.
Traffic was disrupted at the intersection around 2 p.m. as people hurried out of their cars to catch the bills.
No serious traffic problems resulted from the cash grab.
Police said the woman was able to retrieve most of her money as well as the belongings that flew out of her purse.
