Flooding causes problems in Johnston County

Heavy rains caused flooding in areas north and east of Raleigh Monday night.

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — Heavy rains caused flooding in areas north and east of Raleigh Monday night.

High water was reported near Crantock and Dickenson roads in the Cleveland area and at Sanders Road and Creekstone Drive in the Creekstone area.

The National Weather Service extended flash food warnings for Wake, Johnston, Wilson and Wayne counties until 4:30 a.m. and Warren, Nash, Halifax and Franklin counties until 5:15 a.m.
