Flight from RDU makes emergency landing at JFK after lightning strike

A plane heading for New York's LaGuardia Airport was forced to land at John F. Kennedy International Airport after being struck by lightning on Thursday.
American Airlines flight 4233, operated by Republic Airlines, left Raleigh-Durham International Airport around 4:15 p.m. and landed safely around 6:30 p.m. after being diverted to Kennedy Airport.
The Embraer E-170 plane was carrying 55 passengers and four crew members.
No injuries were reported. The Federal Aviation Administration said it will investigate the incident.
