<b>RALEIGH, N.C.</b> — A planned flash mob didn't happen at North Carolina State University as university and Raleigh police set up a checkpoint Friday night.

The flash mob was expected to gather at the school’s Bell Tower. Officers found out about the planned event through Internet chatrooms.

Only a handful of students showed up for the event, campus police said.

Along with the checkpoint, officers also patrolled the Bell Tower and checked student identifications Friday night.
