RALEIGH, N.C. — Monday could see patchy showers across the state, but the sun will ease its way back into the Triangle as the week progresses.

"We're not kicking it out yet," WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said of the 50-50 chance for rain Monday afternoon.

Tuesday will be another mostly cloudy day, but temperatures will begin steady climb that sees the 90s return by week's end, Gardner said.

The possibility of precipitation then decreases to 10 percent on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures continue to rise but a front will limit the accompanying humidity, Gardner said. Overnight lows will actually be cooler – in the mid-60s rather than the high 60s – when the moisture drops.

By Thursday, skies are clear and sunny, and the same forecast is coming for the weekend.
