RALEIGH, N.C. — The World Beer Fest will be held at the N.C. State Fairgrounds Saturday. There will be hundreds of beer to sample, food trucks and more. Here are five things to know before you go:
It's a new venue. This is the first time in the festival's 11 year history that it will be held at the fairgrounds. The new, larger space, means there will be more room for indoor and outdoor attractions (and taps).
Drink Local. Of the more than 250 beers available, half of it will be beers brewed in North Carolina. And not just the usual suspects - Fullsteam, Big Boss and Aviator. There will be breweries from throughout the state there. Get the full list of NC Beers being served
Cider Garden. Cider is really growing in popularity and makers are experimenting with a lot of different ingredients and techniques. There will be more than 20 different ciders in this garden. It's a new component of the festival.
Go Belgian. The Belgian Bier Festival section will have two dozen world-class beers from Belgian brewers, but you are only getting in with a VIP ticket or a separate $15 ticket.
Don't forget to eat. Only Burger, Chirba Chirba, Baguettaboutit and American Meltdown are a few of the food trucks expected to be on hand for the festival. Food is not included in your admission so bring cash or a credit card.

General admission tickets for World Beer Fest are $55 at the door. VIP tickets for the noon-4 p.m. session are sold out, but some do remain for the evening session. Those are $85. Designated driver tickets are $20. Everyone attending must be 21 years or older. No children will be admitted.
