Five sought for questioning in Cumberland shootout

— Cumberland County investigators are searching for five men wanted for questioning in a shootout that killed two men Sunday.

Investigators said that gunfire erupted in a mobile home at 3921 Donna St. around 4:20 a.m. last Sunday, killing Rodriguez Odell Harris, 23, and Terrell Boykin, 19, both of Fayetteville.

Homicide detectives have identified five people of interest in the case:

  • Jammal Rashad Miles, 23, of 1809 Martindale Drive,
  • Anthony "Ant" Dannel Stearns, 21, of 3901 Coventry Road,
  • Earl "Lil Earl" Clarence Avant III, 21, of 6430 Rannock Drive
  • Terrance "T-Black" Justin Holmes, 21, of 308 Currie St.
  • Emmanuel "Bucky" Patterson, 19, who is homeless

Detectives said the men have been uncooperative with the investigation.

    Someone please help me here, WHY is a nickname necessary? One would have to assume that using a nickname would be an indicator of intent to do something illegal OR the people are ashamed of the name given to them at birth. If your ENTIRE neighborhood used nicknames, it MIGHT be time to move.....
