Five charged in Kinston shooting

Kinston, N.C. — Five people have been charged in connection with the Aug. 23 shooting of a bicyclist in Kinston, police announced Monday.
Al-Terrick Herring told investigators that three men shot him while he was riding his bike on a dirt path behind the Lunch Box in the 400 block of East Gordon Street, police said. Herring suffered a non-life-threatening injury to his right calf.
Dedrick Dail, 18, of 600 Carey Road, Dajuquon Poole, 18, of 614 Thompson St., Janaloa Devon Green, 20, of 602 1/2 Nelson St., and Qwashaun Herring, 19, of 700 Joyner Drive, Apt. 22D, were all charged with attempted first-degree murder.
Poole is in the Lenoir County jail under a $1 million secured bond, while Dail and Herring were granted $100,000 secured bonds.
Green remains at large.
Aliyah Machelle Brown, 25, was also charged as an accessory after the fact to attempted first-degree murder. She was given a $65,000 secured bond.
