MaryBeth Winstead, owner of Healthy Moms of Wake County, offered a fitness tip last week.
Healthy Moms is back again. And this time, it's Julie Schmid, a mom of one in Wake Forest. Schmid started teaching classes with Healthy Moms when her son, now seven, was about six months old. She'd take him to the classes and, as a toddler, he'd sometimes shout "Let's Go Moms!" to encourage them on their power strolls.
Even though Schmid has gone back to work full-time, she continues to teach Healthy Moms classes. She enjoys helping new moms and moms-to-be get fit. But there is more to the classes than just exercise.
"It's not just the physical aspect of it," she said. "We're here for the spiritual, emotional part of it."
Schmid took a moment to show us a very easy exercise that helps strengthen our lower half. Schmid demonstrates in this quick video.
Winstead will be back next week with another fitness tip.
Check Healthy Moms' website for more information about the programs they offer. They are now taking registrations for the next session.
