Fishermen rescue deer 3 miles offshore in Lake Erie

Two men who were fishing in Lake Erie on Sunday came across a buck that had been swimming three miles off shore.

LAKE EERIE, MI — Two men who were fishing in Lake Erie on Sunday came across a buck that had been swimming three miles off shore.

Heather Langton said her husband, Jason, and his friend, Scotty Domine, were fishing on Sunday morning when the came across the deer in the water.

It happened about three miles offshore of Brest Bay, which is just northeast of Monroe.

Eventually, the two were able to rope in the deer and get him on the boat. Heather said they let him loose on land safely.
