Posted May 29, 2008

— State wildlife officials were investigating Thursday after about 100 catfish were found dead in Falls Lake.

The fish, which weighed about 1½ pounds each, were found near the Sandling Beach area at the lake, but officials said they hadn't determined the cause of the fish kill.

    Sounds fishy to me.

Maybe they should do a cat-scan to determine the cause of death?

It's probably either dynamite fishing, electricity fishing, or maybe just an epidemic.

I doubt catfish are fragile enough to die because of culling. I have cleaned catfish an hour after removing them from the lake
and they were still alive enough to swim. This sounds like a poison that effected the bottom feeders. But, the scientists need to answer this mystery. In the meantime - don't eat the fish!
