Firefighters in Moore County rescued two puppies from a burning home Friday evening, according to authorities.

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters in Moore County rescued two puppies from a burning home Friday evening, according to authorities. 

Emergency crews were sent to the home on Stubby Oaks Road, just off US Highway 15-501, about 5:30 p.m.

Crews rushed into the home and found the two puppies almost immediately, fire officials said. Both dogs were taken to safety and were not harmed in the blaze. 

No one was home at the time of the fire, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
