Firefighters respond to flames at Chapel Hill dairy farm

— Officials responded to a fire at a dairy farm in Chapel Hill early Sunday afternoon.

According to the Orange County sheriff, flames were reported at Maple View Ice Cream, a dessert parlor and dairy farm located at 6900 Rocky Ridge Road, at about 12:45 a.m.

Officials said the attic of the milk bottling building at the farm was damaged in the fire. No injuries to people or cows have been reported.

    Sice Labor Day, there have been a lot of fires--too many-- reported across the nation at animal processing/dairy operations such as this one in NC. Always property damage, with no animals injured and few people present. Something smells besides smoke.
