Morrisville, N.C. — Nearly four dozen firefighters were called to a Morrisville apartment complex Wednesday afternoon after a fire broke out on the third floor of a building.
A spokeswoman for the town of Morrisville said the blaze at 1415 Autumn Day Drive, at Bexley Park Apartments, was quickly contained.
There were no reports of injuries and everyone inside the building was able to escape.
The American Red Cross said that as many as 24 units and 40 people might have been affected in some way, although it wasn't immediately clear Wednesday evening.
At least two apartments were destroyed, another 10 were damaged and others had power cut to the homes for safety reasons.
The Morrisville Fire Department is working with the Red Cross to provide housing for those in need of a place to stay.
Fire investigators have not said what might have caused the fire, but they don't believe it was the result of any suspicious activity.
