A firefighter suffered minor injuries Saturday while battling flames at the historic Bennett-Dunn Plantation.
Around 10 p.m., officials responded to the fire at 1915 Old Bunn Road.

According to Zebulon Fire Chief Chris Perry, residents living in the main structure on the plantation came home to find the other nearby structures with heavy smoke and fire. Six fire departments worked to extinguish the fire, preserving some of the old structure.
No one lived in the historic plantation cabin, which was built in the 1700s. According to Perry, the fire is not suspicious and appears to be accidental.
Officials said one firefighter suffered a minor injury when the floor gave way beneath him, causing him to fall. He was transported to WakeMed for evaluation.
