CARY, N.C. — The engine of a CTran bus caught fire on Buck Jones Road in Cary Thursday afternoon.

The bus was at the intersection of Buck Jones Road and Nottingham Drive, across from South Hills Mall & Plaza, when the fire broke out.

Two people, including the driver, were on the bus at the time. They were not injured, according to Cary spokeswoman April Raphiou.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but not before it left the bus a charred wreck.

CTran operates three fixed routes and offers door-to-door service for disabled and elderly people.
