Fire rips through vacant mobile home in Raleigh

Posted March 15, 2012

— A fire that gutted a mobile on home on Kings Parkway in east Raleigh early Thursday morning may be suspicious, investigators with the Raleigh Fire Department said.

Crews responded to the mobile home, at 291 Kings Pkwy, around 1:30 a.m. after a neighbor saw flames. No one was home at the time the fire started, but investigators believe people do live in the home.

In late February, fire crews responded to a similar fire at 220 Kings Pkwy. That incident was ruled arson after an investigation.

Hey I live here and this is a nice community except at night when others come over here and vandalize the place. This actually had me frightened because there are a lot of elderly citizens who live here too and sometimes you don't know if they aren't at home or not. 2 fires in less than 2 weeks. I hope they catch whoever is doing this and prosecute them to the fullest. BTW, if management is open and there are people in the office they do not let people hang around the park. I've been here 6 yrs now and nothing like this has ever happened before. You must have caught this people hanging around when management was not in, cause usually the only people there are families with there children. Don't down a place until you live there.
