Goldsboro, N.C. — Separate fires that started within a block of each other heavily damaged two Goldsboro businesses Monday night, fire officials said.
Crews received a call at 7:22 p.m. about a fire at Rick's Used Tires, located in the 100 block of North George Street. As emergency personnel arrived to that location, people were trying to flag them down in reference to another fire at a printing business in the 300 block of West Walnut Street.
The call for the second fire, at Applewhite's Screen Printing, came in at 7:27 p.m., officials said.
No one was inside Rick's Used Tires at the time of the fire, and everyone inside the printing shop made it out safely, fire crews said.
Officials did not release any information on the cause of the fire at the tire shop, but said a light fixture caused the blaze in the attic of the printing shop.
No other information was immediately available.
