Several families displaced by Durham apartment fire

Sixteen families were displaced Wednesday night after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Durham.

DURHAM, N.C. — Sixteen families were displaced Wednesday night after a fire broke out at an apartment complex in Durham.

Firefighters responded to the Oak Creek Village Apartments, at 4230 Garrett Road in Durham, Wednesday afternoon about 4:45 p.m. 

At one point, 25 firefighters were at the scene. 

No injuries were reported, but 16 families were displaced by the fire. 

Officials from apartment complex were working to help families move into empty apartments in the complex. The Red Cross was also called in. 

It wasn't clear what caused the fire.
