RALEIGH, N.C. — Editor's note: The charges against Gregory Charles Staderman were expunged in June 2007, according to court documents.
Raleigh police responding to a suspicious fire Saturday ended up busting one man's alleged marijuana operation.
When a fire started in an apartment at 3133 Aileen Drive, near Avent Ferry Road and Gorman Street, officers searched the building and discovered in a neighboring apartment 38 pots of marijuana plants, as well as artificial lights and a ventilation system, police said.
Gregory Charles Staderman, 22, faces several charges, including manufacturing marijuana and cocaine possession. He is in jail on a $15,000 bond.
Authorities are still investigating the fire and have yet to make any arrests in that case.
