CARY, N.C.Fire in the Triangle starts next week and we wanted to give you a chance to get to know the chefs who will be battling it out.
We headed to The Umstead Hotel and Spa in Cary to chat with Herons chef John Childers. Check out the accompanying video to find out his favorite foods and his new team for this year's battle!

This is Childers' third Fire in the Triangle. In 2012, he and his team were defeated in the finals by eventual Final Fire winner Ryan Payne and team Weathervane. Last year, Team Herons were defeated in the second round by the team from the Washington Duke Inn.

Childers will be facing Scott Jankovictz of The Station. Jankovictz was on The Market team when it competed in Fire in the Triangle in 2012 and 2013. Team Market lost to Team Herons in their first battle in the 2012 Fire in the Triangle.
