The Pikeville Town Hall building was gutted by fire early Friday morning, authorities said.

PIKEVILLE, N.C. — The Pikeville Town Hall building was gutted by fire early Friday morning, authorities said.
Pikeville Police Chief Craig Edwins said the building is insured, but he did not have an dollar estimate for the damage.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
