Fire engulfs Harrison Motel in Cary

— Firefighters extinguished a fire at the Harrison Motel at 607 E Chatham St. in downtown Cary on Friday, town spokeswoman Susan Moran said.

The fire started just after 6 p.m. and spread through the three-building complex. One building was heavily damaged, Moran said.

No injuries have been reported. 

The Red Cross is helping residents displaced by the fire.

The cause remained under investigation.

    Harrison's is a rat trap. Still, everyone has to live somewhere.

    Praying that no one is hurt and no one loses much.
