In many cases, the FD will notify the Red Cross and they will provide for the families immediate needs. This includes a hotel room, food, clothes, and some cash. They are a good place to donate to help fire victims.

Something off about their math in the article. "twelve children and six adults were displaced"- I may have gone to a public school, but isn't that 18 people, not 12? Glad there was no loss of life- "stuff" can be replaced.

Wonder how to go about seeing if these families need donations of clothes, food, etc.
