A fire destroyed a two-story house north of Franklinton late Friday night, officials said.

FRANKLINTON, N.C. — A fire destroyed a two-story house north of Franklinton late Friday night, officials said.
The fire began shortly after 11 p.m. at 1074 Misty Lane, of U.S. Highway 1. When crews from the Franklinton Fire Department arrived, they found the wood frame house fully engulfed in flames.
No one was home at the time of the fire, but the house is a complete loss, officials said.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
