Cary, N.C. — Fire destroyed a home on Smokehouse Lane in Cary Monday evening, a town spokeswoman said.
When firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after 6 p.m., the house, at 101 Smokehouse Lane off Reedy Creek Road, was fully engulfed in flames.
No one was injured. The residents of the home were away on vacation, authorities said.
Fire investigators are working to determine how the fire started.
Reedy Creek Road was down to one lane for several hours while firefighters battled the blaze.
