Fire destroys Angier house

— Fire destroyed an Angier house around 2:15 a.m. Thursday. No serious injuries were reported.

The blaze happened at 35 Courtland Drive. Authorities said they don't know what caused the fire.

A neighbor, James Miazga, said the owners got out safely.

    I'm sorry to say the dog didn't make it out. Also, there was some damage done to homes and cars close to the structure that burned.

    I heard this last night on my scanner. They also there was "a canine still inside" and "neighboring structures were in danger". I hope the dog got out ok. I'm glad the family is safe. Harnett County GIS shows the house was built in 1998. I wonder how a house that's fairly new could catch fire in the middle of the night like that.
