Fire Damages Fayetteville Rescue Mission

A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at the Fayetteville Rescue Mission.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A fire broke out early Tuesday morning at the Fayetteville Rescue Mission.

Six fire engines and two rescue crews were dispatched at around 2:15 a.m. to the building at 120 N. Cool Springs St.

Authorities said two people were injured during the fire. One person was treated at the scene. The other was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. That person's condition was not known.

The fire displaced a dozen people, officials said. The Red Cross was called to assist with housing. Authorities have ruled the fire as accidental.
