Fire damages Fayetteville apartment complex

— More than two dozen people were displaced Saturday afternoon after a fire ripped through the Pondersoa Apartements complex, Fayetteville police said. 

Emergency crews responded to the complex, at 5444 Wichita Drive, at about 3 p.m. Dozens of fire crews responded to the call, and about eight units were damaged, police said.

One man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. 

The American Red Cross is assisting those affected by the fire.
