DURHAM, N.C. — Fire crews were investigating early Thursday to determine the cause of a fire that ripped through a Durham shop that sells vintage and custom-built guitars.
The Durham Fire Department responded to a call about a fire at Danser Guitar Works, at 1805 W. Markham Ave., around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday night.

The damage was limited primarily to the back of the building and the attic, but there was smoke and water damage to both floors of the building, officials said.

Investigators said someone lived on the second floor of the building above the guitar shop, but no one was home when the fire started.

No one was injured. No other information was released.
