A body was found early Saturday after a barn behind a home in Four Oaks exploded in flames, Johnston County authorities said.

FOUR OAKS, N.C. — A body was found early Saturday after a barn behind a home in Four Oaks exploded in flames, Johnston County authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to the home, at 4642 N.C. Highway 301 South, about 9 a.m. after neighbors reported hearing an explosion.

The person's name and gender have not been released, and the body has been sent to the Medical Examiner's office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy to determine the cause of death and assist in identification.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but officials said there were methamphetamine components found inside the barn.

No other information has been released.
