Fire chief: Clubhouse at Raleigh apartment complex is a 'total loss'

The clubhouse of an apartment complex in Raleigh was destroyed Saturday when flames tore through the building and several surrounding apartments.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The clubhouse of an apartment complex in Raleigh was destroyed Saturday when flames tore through the building and several surrounding apartments.

Around 5:15 a.m., officials responded to the North Hills at Town Center apartment complex located at 2731 Millbrook Village Place.

According to officials with the Raleigh Fire Department, the fire started in the clubhouse (a non-sprinkler building) and affected four surrounding apartments. Ten people were displaced from their homes, but there were no injuries in the fire, officials said. Those individuals have been relocated within the apartment complex.

Officials said approximately 75 fire fighters were involved in extinguishing the fire. The cause of the incident has not yet been determined.
