Fire breaks out in Rougemont quarry

— Firefighters battled a blaze at a quarry in Rougemont on Wednesday night.

A piece of equipment caught fire in the Hanson quarry on Bacon Road, authorities said.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

    Channel 11 had the cause of the fire last nite. Started in a conveyor. Way to follow up guys!!!

    Hanson quarry in Raleigh has been there since the 1940's. Long before any of those homeowners ever showed up out there. If you build or buy next to a quarry what do you expect?

    Is that your official answer?....wrong . Orange and Person Co. You want me to believe that some homeowner from Raleigh is going to drive an 1hr+ each way to set fire to a piece of equipment. Don't think so . Probably kids

    Somewhere north of Falls Lake I think, but the fact that it is another quarry owned by Hanson is the reason for the comment. I think the homeowners have automobiles. By the way, you are not you I think you are, are you?
