RALEIGH, N.C. — A fire destroyed a large portion of multiple townhouses on Crescentview Parkway on Sunday.

The townhouses are near Tryon Road in Raleigh. The middle townhouse of a 3-unit, 3-story building was on fire, and all three units were evacuated.

Flames could be seen shooting out of the building.

Multiple Raleigh fire units responded, with one group fighting the blaze, while another did a primary search of the unit, according to officials. The Swift Creek Fire Department and Cary Fire Department arrived to assist, as well, according to officials.

"All units on scene quickly put 3 hand lines in service and made a great stop on a rapidly advancing fire, saving lives and property," said the Raleigh Professional Fire Fighters Association on social media.

WRAL is following up to find out whether there were any injuries and to find out how the fire started.
