Fight at Greenville club sparks triple shooting

— A fight that began in a Greenville nightclub early Sunday ended in a shooting that injured three people, police said.

CBS affiliate WNCT reports that a fight in Club Phoenix spilled into a dirt parking lot at East Fourth Street and Reade Circle around 3 a.m. Gunshots were fired, injuring three people.

Jeffrey Jermaine Staton, 26, of Greenville, and Terrance Grimes, 31, of Ayden, were taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital.

A bullet grazed the legs of Kiesha Wilkins, 20, of Colerain, but she did not require hospitalization.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

    The honor code among that group of people that dawg refers to is the "no snitch rule". In other words, if a brutha tells on a brutha for commiting a crime, then you on your own without any protection in the hood. Bruthas be done disowned ya.

    kadee123: I am sure that many people ran when the gunshots rang out. Perhaps that sentence you quoted was Greenville PD's attempt to reach out to those people. Or maybe others who were driving by or exiting nearby clubs saw someone running and thought nothing of it until they heard that someone had been shot.
