FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 24-year-old Fayetteville woman shot at a drive-up ATM two weeks ago says she's surprised she's not dead.

Anna Williams was making a deposit at a Wells Fargo bank branch on Raeford Road on the evening of March 30 when a man approached the car she and a friend were in and fired his gun without ever demanding money.

"He was just standing there, and the next thing I know is that my friend just pulled off," Williams said Tuesday.

That's when she thinks the gun went off.

"They said it went through my stomach, my liver and my lung," Williams said of the bullet that hit her. "I'm just happy to be alive."

Williams says she believes her friend's quick actions to drive off and take her directly to a local hospital saved her life.

"I think he shot, but I think that, if she wouldn't have drove like she did, it wouldn't have changed the direction of the gun, and it would have got me right where he had it the first time."

Police say the man with the gun is Ladarious Dion Hill, 21, of Fayetteville.

He faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
