Fayetteville woman faces 37 child sex charges

A Fayetteville woman was arrested Friday on more than three dozen charges of sex-related crimes involving a minor.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville woman was arrested Friday on more than three dozen charges of sex-related crimes involving a minor.

Catina Lynn Martell, 37, was being held on a $4.75 million bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center in connection with alleged crimes that happened from Aug. 10 to Sept. 18.

She is charged with seven counts of sexual offense with a child, six counts of second-degree sexual offense, six counts of felony child abuse involving a sexual act, six counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, six counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and six counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Martell was charged on Monday, authorities said, and surrendered to police Friday.
