FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police on Monday asked for the public's help to locate a 1-year-old girl.

Armana “Mony” Williams was last seen on Feb. 28, police said. The Cumberland County Department of Social Services has since taken legal custody of the child and has been trying to locate her, police said.

She was described as a black girl with short black hair and brown eyes. She might be in the company of her mother, 25-year-old Wachaka L. Williams.

Wachaka Williams is homeless, frequents known drug areas and might be in the neighborhood of Blount Street, South Cool Springs Street or Johnson Street, police said. She was described as a black woman, 4 feet, 11 inches tall and 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the mother or child is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or call 911.
