Fayetteville police called off the search Saturday evening for a teen who had been reported missing earlier in the day.

The report that Desiree Kenyatta Mace, 15, had been taken from her Providence Street home, possibly against her will, turned out to be fake, police said.

Desiree, a junior at Pine Forest Senior High School, was never in danger.

Further investigations (if they are worth it) take time. Let the case run its course if indeed it was an intentional "false report".

Did anyone get charged for filing a false report?

I second this!
