WHITE OAK, N.C. — A Fayetteville teen was killed Friday and two others were injured in a wreck on N.C. Highway 53 in Bladen County, according to the state Highway Patrol.

William Coleman "Cole" Humphrey, 17, was driving a GMC SUV west on N.C. 53 near the White Oak community when he ran off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and a power pole and then overturned around 4 p.m. He died at the scene.

Two passengers – Spencer Faircloth, 18, of Stedman, and Branson Hayes, 17, of Wade – were injured, but their conditions were not released.

Humphrey and one passenger were ejected from the vehicle. None of the teens were wearing seat belts, troopers said.

Neither speed nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

Humphrey and Hayes were students at Cape Fear High School, authorities said. It wasn't clear whether Faircloth also attended the high school.
