FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies have charged a student at E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville with possession of drugs on campus.

Kenneth Jerome Hobbs, 16, of 509 Andover Road, was taken in to custody Tuesday at about 3:30 p.m.

Investigators say the school’s principal received a report that items were being stolen from a locker room. When he went to investigate, Hobbs was observed in the area and was searched. Four bags of marijuana and $64 were found in his possession, deputies said.

Hobbs was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was being processed in the Cumberland County Detention Tuesday afternoon.
