Fayetteville Street sidewalks to be closed for cleaning

The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department will be cleaning and sealing the sidewalks on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh beginning Friday at 6 p.m.

RALEIGH, N.C. — The City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department will be cleaning and sealing the sidewalks on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
All the work will be done by a contractor during the hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project will be done in sections, starting on the west side of the 100 block of Fayetteville Street.

Parking and sidewalk access will be prohibited along sections of Fayetteville Street during the cleaning and sealing.

No work will be done on Fayetteville Street on weekend nights or on days when it is raining.

Each block side will take two nights to complete – one night to clean and the second night to apply the sealer.

Work begins Friday night on the west side of the 100 block of Fayetteville Street.

Monday work will begin on the west side of the 300 block and the 400 block.

June 15 work will begin in the 500 block.
