Fayetteville man shoots stepson over mowing the lawn

A 20-year-old man was shot by his stepdad Monday afternoon over mowing the lawn, Fayetteville police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 20-year-old man was shot by his stepdad Monday afternoon after an argument over mowing the lawn, Fayetteville police said.

The incident happened at about 12:20 p.m. on the 4500 block of Turquoise Road. The victim, Winston Adams, was shot in the lower back and was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He was last listed in fair condition.

Wilbert Lawrence Faison, 62, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He remained in the Cumberland County jail Monday under a $100,000 bond.
