Fayetteville raid yields guns, drugs, electronics

Posted May 31, 2013

— Law enforcement officers from Fayetteville and from Moore County raided a home Thursday they believe to be key to a stolen property ring.

Detectives seized guns, electronics, tools, lawn equipment, a motor scooter and an ATV at 728 Elderberry Drive. They were working Friday to log the items and determine where they came from. In a statement, police estimated the total value of the haul at more than $10,000.

James Andrew Williams, 27, and Martha Tomlinson, 38, were present at the time of the raid, and both face drug charges after police found more than $12,000 in cash and 100 grams of opium in the home.

Authorities expect to file additional charges related to the stolen property, and they are asking for help from the public in identifying the stolen items. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

Fayetteville does provide a good training ground for paramedics, ER doctors and law enforcement.

Fayetteville....the only town in NC that is worse than Durham, and it makes me happy I still live in Rocky Mount. Not that it's so much better here, just not as bad.
