Fayetteville police warn of vehicle break-ins

Police said that 21 vehicles were unlocked, and valuables including GPS systems, money, Blackberry phones and iPods were stolen.

The vehicle break-ins occurred in an area bounded on the south by Cliffdale Road, on the north by the All-American Expressway, on the east by Skibo Road, and on the west by Fort Bragg.

Often in such cases, police said, the burglars walk through a parking lot or neighborhood and pull on door handles to find an unlocked vehicle. They are usually in and out of the vehicle in under 30 seconds, police said.
