One dead, one injured in Fayetteville shooting
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man wounded in a fatal Thursday shooting at a Fayetteville apartment was identified Friday as a Fort Bragg soldier, police said.

Stephanie Thompson, 24, was killed in the shooting at the Summertime Apartments, at 6539 Jeffrey Drive, police said.

Michael Lloyd Williams, 46, was wounded and was listed in critical condition Friday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, police said.

Williams, who was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, had been romantically involved with Thompson for seven years, police said.

Investigators have determined that Williams shot Thompson several times before turning the gun on himself, police said.

No charges have been filed in the case.
