I have bought and sold items on CL without any problems. We can not live as sheep because of crimminals running the street. meet in a public place don't go alone and have your partner stand off and armed. 99% of the time you will never have any problems, for that 1 %, well all I have to say is "get a good site picture".

I guess it don't matter why they were meeting, but the pert, got fooled when he didn't think they would file a complaint...

Does not indicate the gender or age of the victim, or what they were meeting for.... (although another news source said "him" when referring to the victim). Could be a craigslist sale, could have been something else, who knows.
